Lauren, Frank and Francesco

What is your favorite thing about living here?
Nicole – I love living in East Northport because we are so close to our family here! It is also very conveniently located to great restaurants and stores!

Lauren- I love living in Commack because everything is so close! Commack has EVERYTHING! Everything is so convenient which is amazing when you have a little one!

What do you love to do with your family around town?

Nicole, Hector and Sofia

Nicole- We love to take Sofia for walks around town. When she was a baby we would go and get ice cream and walk around Hecksher Park. We are so excited for this spring when she will be able to run around with us.

Lauren- My husband and I love going out to dinner with our son and being in Commack is so nice because there’s so many local restaurants that are family friendly
Tell us about your business and how it came to be, what you love about it, what makes it unique, what your goal is, etc…
Nicole – Our business started when I started to look into mommy and me classes for my daughter and I to attend. I wanted something that was more than just a mommy and me music class and I wanted something that was more than just a gymnastics based class. I felt like Lauren and I could really put a class together that combined many aspects of a pre-school day but involved a mom/caregiver which is really what makes our classes unique! We plan to have the children and parents participate in circle time, music and movement, listen to a story’ and complete a related craft.
A few years ago we taught pre-k together and it was so fun working with my best friend then, so I figured starting a business together doing what we both loved would be even better. Lauren was interested right away and so we reached out to the owner of Plaster Funcraft, Heather (who was my class mom when I taught first grade), and she was just as excited about this opportunity.
We love that this business allows us to apply our education background with our new experience as being moms to toddlers. We felt like this was a great balance of working but also being stay at home moms. We also thought it was a great way for other moms to meet us and each other!
Our goal is to provide  a fun and creative learning environment for moms and their toddlers to learn and bond together while also meeting new friends (and mom friends)!

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
We have been given such great opportunities within the community. From Plaster FunCraft giving us the opportunity to start our business, working with Huntington Moms to help grow our business, and having B.E.S.T Learning Center also be interested in us, the community has been extremely supportive in giving us opportunities to help start and grow our new business!!
